Job Overview
We are seeking a talented, experienced and motivated Marketing and Analytics Database Developer / Data Architect / Data Administrator / Database Designer to join our marketing consulting practice. With solid skills in data base design, data base development, ETL, data prep, query development, report design and generation, you will be involved in assisting our ability to efficiently anticipate, meet and exceed our clients expectations regarding. This is a hands-on position and will have interactions with internal stake holders as well as business clients and client IT organizations in the process of acquiring client’s data and meeting client’s business objectives. This role will be working with customer and prospect data for the purposes of supporting marketing and sales analysis and campaigns.
Job Description
As a customer and prospect data base developer, you will design and develop processes for capturing and analyzing customer information in order to identify how best to market, sell and serve customers. You will need to be able to create, replicate and/or change processes as required for each new client engagement. You will provide ETL processes, design and build data warehouses/data marts, and prepare data for use in analytics, as well as design and generate reports to help clients accurately match customers with attractive offers and significantly improve campaign response rates to their target markets by using improved customer information from segmentation and advanced modeling techniques. As a data preparation consultant, you will work with large amounts of data retrieved from disparate data sources, perform processes, data cleansing and sampling to prepare a single repository. The data bases developed will be used for capturing and analyzing operational data related to the performance of marketing, sales and service departments against target metrics. You will provide project insight, staff mentoring, education, and leadership in developing staff, processes and tools to be used to reduce the time to deliver project deliverables.
Job Duties
·Participate in proposal development efforts especially as it relates to data acquisition and analytics processes
·Validate data received from clients meets defined specifications to insure integrity prior to the development of customer analytics
·Dedupe and consolidate client data from disparate data sources
·Design and document database architecture to prepare for data modeling
·Prepare and validate data for analytical modeling/data mining
·Build database scheme, tables, procedures and permissions
·Set up data sharing and disk partitioning
·Develop database utilities and automated reporting
·Create shell scripts for task automation
·Execute and test data management processes
·Analyze and sustain capacity and performance requirements
·Analyze, consolidate and tune database for optimal efficiency
·Monitor systems and platforms for availability
·Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover
·Restore and recover corrupted databases
·Install and test upgrades and patches
·Implement security and encryption as required
·Prepare data for CRM / BI front end tools
·Design and generate reports for analysis
·Generate sales and direct marketing lists
·Segment customers based on transaction, behavior and appended data
·Develop scripts for ad hoc queries for clients and client analytics
·Facilitate use and choice of technology-based data base and business analytics tools and methodologies to increase speed of client delivery
·Participate in training and staff growth
·Assist in packaging the final analytics into business value proposition document by supplying relevant and meaningful supporting data evidence

· Strong potential for growth and acceptance of additional responsibilities
· Demonstrate knowledge of market trends, competitor activities, and M Squared Group’s service offerings
· Must be capable of working independently, as well as in teams of 1 - 4 individuals
· CRM, marketing and sales system subject matter expertise, as well as supporting direct sales and marketing programs
Qualifications
· 6+ years experience with MS SQL (including MS SQL 2008) building, maintaining and optimizing databases
· 5+ years of experience with SPSS, Access, my SQL and/or other data analytics tools
· 3-5 years of experience in Customer Relationship Management, Marketing Automation, Database Marketing Management and Operations, Customer Data Management, Customer Analytics, Operations Research and Quantitative Analysis
· 2+ years experience with business development, marketing, and consulting experience
· Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) certification a plus
· BA/BS in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field preferred
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
